Though many have decided to breed Bernedoodles, not all programs are equal. Why should you choose Bluegrass Mountain Doodles?
- We are specialized Bernedoodle Breeders. We are not Covid breeders nor backyard breeders. We have 25+ years of experience breeding dogs. We raised AKC pups prior to falling in love with Bernese Mountain Dogs and the cross between a Bernese and a Standard Poodle - the Bernedoodle - in 2018. Bernedoodles are the ONLY cross we breed. That means all of our time, energy, and research goes into our AKC parents/F1 Bernedoodles thus enabling us to produce a superior Bernedoodle puppy.
- All of our parents are on site. We live on a 50 acre farm in the Mountains of Eastern Kentucky where they have plenty of room to run and explore! However, our program is paramount in importance, so we don’t raise other animals. We devote all of our time and attention to our parents and their litters.
- European/Champion bloodlines! At least one parent in most of our pairings will throw pups with stockier builds, blocky heads, and Champion lineage. This makes a noticeable difference in the structure, temperament, and overall trainability of your pup.
- All of our parents are genetically tested , and carefully selected/screened prior to breeding. We put a lot of time and thought into perspective parents, preferring to raise our dams and sires on site so we know the ins and outs of their temperaments way in advance of the first breeding.
- There is a personal touch and connection in all our communications. Though our web site is a useful tool, we are happy to engage in individual conversations via text, messenger, and phone call both before and after you choose us. We do puppy picks via Facetime after eyes open and babies start exploring. You can choose the color, gender, and most importantly, the personality of your future family member. We allow you to pick your puppy (based on availability) and your puppy to pick you! We have families who start bonding with their pup from the initial selection FaceTime. We will then update you with weekly pics and or videos of your baby so you can see his/her growth and development. You will know your furbaby before you meet him/her in person on Gotcha Day!
